Summer Fun: Strawberry Picking
Posted by
onOne of my favorite early Summer activities is going strawberry picking with my kids! Every year we go and every year we bring home far too many strawberries, so in an effort to not let any go to waste I like to transform them into snacks for my kids to snack on over the next few weeks.
Here are 2 of my favorite snacks:
1. Frozen Yogurt Covered Strawberries
This is so easy and perfect for the hot days of summer! Cut the strawberries in half, dip in yogurt, put on a cookie sheet, pop in the freezer for 2 hours. Love this easy how-to from Stockpiling Moms.
These are a great alternative to gummy bears or fruit snacks. Slice the strawberries, sprinkle with seasoning of choice (Miss. Renaissance suggests salt and cinnamon), lay on baking sheet, bake for 3 hours at 200 degrees. Store in a sealed container once cooled. These are a great snack to carry in your bag or take to the park and fit nicely inside our personalized snack bowls!
